Diagnostic Imaging

The MVH diagnostic imaging department is staffed by radiologists from the Massachusetts General Hospital. Inpatient and outpatient services currently available include:

  • General X-rays
  • Ultrasound
  • Echo cardiograms
  • Bone density screenings
  • Mammograms
  • CT Scans
  • MRIs

Outpatients should register at the admitting desk in the Emergency Department waiting area before scheduled screenings. If you do not have a requisition form from your doctor (if it has been sent directly to Imaging) please pick it up at the Imaging Department reception desk before going to register.

Mammography & Breast Health

The MV Hospital Mammography Department offers comprehensive diagnostic and mammography screening services through the Breast Imaging Department of our affiliate, Massachusetts General Hospital. Our Mammography Department is staffed by physicians from Mass General where the results are read and evaluated. We also perform diagnostic ultrasound breast exams and biopsies.

The MV Hospital Surgical Services Department offers consultations with a surgeon with specialized experience in breast health and needle and surgical biopsy.

Mammograms are offered: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Diagnostic exams are offered with a MGH radiologist every Wednesday.

If you are transferring as a new patient, please request your last 4 mammograms from your current provider. Your records may be mailed to:
