A great end-of-summer event for the whole family! Racers of all ages run or walk a US Track and Field Association Certified 5K course around the East Chop bluffs, with a spectacular view of Nantucket Sound. For a course map, click here.
Founded in 1989 by Dr. Louis W. Sullivan, former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services from 1989-1993, the race promotes Dr. and Mrs. Sullivan’s belief in the health benefits of daily exercise. This event has raised much needed funds to support the Hospital’s efforts to improve the health of our Island community.

Free t-shirts will be distributed to the first 300 registered participants. Shirts/sizes are distributed on a first come, first served basis.
Awards
Overall top male and female runner and walker will receive medals and gift certificates. Medals will also be awarded to the top male and female runner and walker in the following age divisions:
(14 & under) (15-19) (20-29) (30-39) (40-49) (50-59) (60-69) (70-79) (80 & over)
Strollers, 4-Legged Friends, Etc.
Single and double strollers are permitted; however, we ask that they remain at the “back of the pack” at the start of the race. If you do have a stroller, please exercise extreme caution during the race. Leashed, well-behaved animals are permitted; however, we also ask that they remain at the “back of the pack” at the start of the race. Bikes, rollerblades, skates, scooters and skateboards are prohibited.
Volunteers
The Sullivan Run/Walk could not happen without the numerous volunteers who help with everything from t-shirt distribution to handing out water. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the Development Office at (508) 693-4645 or contact us via email before August 10th.
