“Immunize MV”: Outreach Effort About the Benefits of Childhood Immunization

Immunize MV is an initiative encouraging parents to have their children vaccinated against infectious diseases such as pertussis (whooping cough) and chicken pox. These diseases still infect children in Vineyard schools and can be very serious. Varci Carvalho, a graduate of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and a student at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, and Dave Caron, director of the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital pharmacy, worked together to produce informational brochures and a video to explain immunization and answer commonly asked questions about vaccines.
